Lewis and Jacqueline Chilton purchased the Yountville Deli in March 2008 to provide a high quality but reasonably priced food option for discerning locals and tourists.

As the General Manager and Co-Owner, Lewis can be found in the deli on many days whether taking orders behind the counter or tangling with paperwork in the office.  Lewis' favorite sandwich is the "Rosa Rueben".  Lewis named the sandwich in honor of a colleague retiring from the Yountville Town Council and his years of service to our community—Steve Rosa.

On most days, Jacqueline picks up her morning coffee on her way to work and frequently returns for her favorite sandwich—the "Sonoma Chicken".  There’s something about the fresh California grapes, ripe avocado and the poppy seed dressing!

Our staff are hard working locals from Yountville and Napa.  They like to keep the place humming with music and laughter.  We think they are the best!  Feel free to say hello when you come by.

What is Bouchon Roll and why do we love them?

When we first moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, we quickly noticed that the bread here seems to be better than anywhere else in the United States.   If you’ve traveled to Europe (especially France), you probably remember that the bread you got from your low-budget hotel or a street vendor was surprisingly better than what you were used to from a market at home.  Well, not here.  Maybe it’s the water, the weather or just the technique but the Bay Area simply makes great bread.

In Yountville, we are lucky to have one of the Bay Area’s best bakeries—Bouchon Bakery.   Part of Thomas Keller’s family of restaurants—including the French Laundry, Bouchon and Ad Hoc—Bouchon Bakery makes some of the finest French-style bread you will find.

When creating our new menu of specialty sandwiches, we knew that if we gave a sandwich the name "Yountville" then it better be good.  The foundation is the Bouchon Bakery Palladin Market Roll which is delivered to us fresh daily.  We also use it in several other specialty sandwiches and many of our customers like it so much that they build their own sandwich on it.  For more information on Bouchon Bakery, you can visit their website at: http://www.bouchonbakery.com/

Come and try the local lunch spot, hidden in Ranch Market II.

We look forward to seeing you soon and telling you more about our quality ingredients.  Don't forget to try our in-house specialties like Sonoma Chicken, Coleslaw or Cobb Salad to name a few.  We'll make your lunch for you.  See you soon.
